Hello again. The 6 of us have been having a wonderful visit. Yesterday after Valbonne, we visited a grocery store for some shopping and bought dinner stuff, appetizers and 16 bottle of wine and a case of beer for 120 Euros. The food was the expensive part of the bill. Then everyone but Connie went for a hike. There is a mountain right outside Clay and Sue's house. The hike lasted about an hour. It was a hard climb, especially the descent, but worth it because the view was magnifique! We could see all the way to the sea in one direction and off to the mountains from the other. Sue and Clay can do this everyday, just steps from their house. Apparently Clay does it several times a day. Helps work off the beaucoup de vin, biere and wonderful food you eat all day. !!
After the hike we all sat outside on their patio and had a 'few' beers and wine. A few grew into many and we ended up doing tapas for dinner, by this time no one wanted to (or was able to) cook. So dinner consisted of many cheeses, bread, tapanade, and olives, so very French, eh? The olives here are the best we have ever had, could eat them at every meal. And of course, don't get us started on the wine. Tres bon! For desset we had candy made out of flowers and leaves. We know, sounds not so good, right? But they were delicious. We'll try and bring some home.
This morning we headed to Antibes to see how the other half live. The harbour is just filled with incredible yachts. One yacht had a helicopter, small sail and motor boat on it. We couldn't have afforded the dingys. We saw some yachts for sail for 7 million Euro. Walked around the old town and had lunch at an English Pub. Antibes seems to have a very British influence. Afterwards managed to survive another drive home. Mark has been doing most of the driving and is doing an excellent job. We have a Mitsubishi SUV rental, a little big for France, but we all can fit in it.
The roads are so narrow and with the roundabouts thrown in, driving is an adventure. Sue has been navigating so far, but it will get interesting when we head out on our own.
Well we're getting ready for dinner and we are cooking tonight. Tonight Clays cousin James is flying in and staying for a day or two. Tomorrow, the guys will probably go hiking and the girls will go check out another town in the area.
Until tomorrow or as the French say,
A bientot.

(ps.....posted a ton of pics, but they are not in any order)
