Departure minus one day

Things are running as one might expect. I purchased an extended warranty on our refrigerator when I purchased it. That warranty ran out in March, and I refused to renew it because the warranty didn't cover fixing the front of the ice maker. It is rusted and popping out of the door. Yeah, it's a friggin Maytag wide by side. As luck would have it, the thing broke Thursday. They can't come out and fix it until Monday. Hopefully, it will only be the fan. Dad will handle it for us. Angie can't because Chloe is going to be at Medical Center meeting with the surgery team for a bone graft for her cleft (as in palate). Once the doctors decide what all is required (plastic surgery is also involved) they'll set the surgery date. That will not be until we are home.

Whew....things are coming to a head. For those of you that don't know Gary, he still hasn't packed. This is normal for him. We have to be at Sheila's house at 2:00 tomorrow, and it's a 15 minute drive, so I figure he'll start around 1:30pm. For those of you that do know Gary, that means the fight will start at 1:00pm. Some things never change. I have packed and repacked 2 times, and one bag weighs 45 pounds, and the other is maybe 25. It was too small to weigh, so it must be okay. Angela has been helping me pack. Thank god for good daughters. Maybe Gary would be packed if he would quit playing with Morgan and Chloe for a few minutes.

Dad is going to be fine while we're gone. Angela is going to feed him at least one home cooked meal each day. He has his routine for breakfast down..... and lunch is usually left overs or a sandwich. He will be here alone for 1 week, then he'll go to Tulsa to spend a week with my sister Evelyn, then back here alone for one more week. That will give him a break. While he's visiting my sister, he'll also visit his 89 year old sister, and my step-father Frank. That he's looking forward to. He just loves Frank.

Well, I'm back to nagging Gary to get started. For the life of me, I don't know why I try. How do you spell "frustrated"? I spell it "G" "A" "R" "Y".

This has all been written by me, but once we get to Europe, Sheila and I will do this together, with Sue and Clay's help of course.

I'm signing off for now.
