Gopher Breakfast

We got up to find Clay in the kitchen. He was slicing strawberries and mixing flour, eggs, on and on. Anyway, he did provide us with homemade gopher, which is what the french call waffles. He served them with syrup, whipped cream, strawberries, and butter. They were fantastic.

Sue, Clay, Mark and Sheila headed off for a hike. Details will follow later, but they actually did a fast paced 3 hour hike.

Gary and Connie hung out at the villa. Connie wanted to go shopping and just knew where the grocery store was located. Well, you know how she can be. She and Gary walked about 3.5 miles looking for it. Half of that was all uphill. She finally gave up (which was good because she was going in the wrong direction) and walked another 1/2 mile or so to find a place to eat lunch. Nothing like spending 32 euro's on one pizza and one salad.

Everyone finally met up back at the villa, and they all went to dinner, Sue and Clay's treat. Most ordered sea bass, Mark ordered rabbit, and Connie ordered shrimp and scallops. They had a couple of bottles of wine, then coffee. Nothing like a french 3 hour supper. It was so good, and the view..... we were on the window side out on the beach. Sue and Clay are the perfect host and hostess.

We're all going to bed a wee bit early tonight, because we get up in the morning and head out for Genoa, Italy. We have no idea how the internet posting will go..... it may be silent until next Wednesday when we'll come back to Sue and Clays for one day before heading back to Paris. We'll stay there 2 more days and then we're back in Texas. Wow, time is flying.

We'll close for now.....and blog as soon as we can.
